All Saints’ Glen Rock is seeking a
Director of Youth and Family Ministries

All Saints’ Episcopal Church is an open, welcoming and inclusive congregation in the bustling Bergen County Suburbs of New York City. We are a growing congregation, and are made up of a diversity of peoples and families. We intentionally welcome people and families of all kinds through our doors. Our ministry to children, youth and families is a large piece of our parish identity.

The Associate for Youth and Family Ministries is a part-time position (approximately 15-20 hours a week), with the direct responsibility for continuing to grow, oversee and support the ministries.

We have a growing number of young people (70) registered in the nursery through 12th grade programs of this key ministry. The program includes:

First Steps: Nursery Program for infants and toddlers is provided year-round in a specifically equipped area of the Fellowship Hall during Sunday Morning services and also during special liturgies or family-related activities. The program is run as a parent cooperative with the assistance of a professional nursery caregiver.

Kids for Christ 1&2: All Saints’ primary Christian Formation for children ages preschool through 5th grade. Meets on Sundays during the school year (September-June) from 9:30-10:30 in the chapel building, with the children generally joining their parents in the church for Holy Communion. This program uses either “In the Beginning (K4C1)” or “’The Promise land (K4C2)” curricula from Willow Creek Church (though tweaked a bit) presenting the Biblical narrative in a high-energy large group gathering followed by supplementary reinforcement and application of The Word in age-appropriate Small Groups (PreK-K, Grades 1/2; and Grades 3-5).

The Rolling Stones: For Middle School (6-8 grades) students on Sunday Mornings during the school year from 9:30-10:30 led by a team of rotating adults (6). The Rite 13 portion of the “Journey to Adulthood” program curriculum is the basis for the lesson plans, inviting the students to deeper theological reflection, Biblical exploration and age-appropriate character development

The Rocks: For High School (9-12 grades) students two alternating Sunday evenings/month during the school year from 6-7:30 led by a rotating team of adults. The J2A program again is the basis of the lesson plan, and other current curriculum. Additionally, the Rocks prepare for confirmation when such time arises.
