Lift Every Voice and Sing!
All Saints' offers uplifting music in the
Episcopal (Anglican)
tradition. Our chancel choir leads the congregation in worship from
September until June. Our choir is easy-going and is composed of men
and women who simply enjoy singing---no musical degrees or auditions
necessary! We warmly welcome newcomers to join us for rehearsals each
week at 9:30 (September-June) in the Church. If you'd like more
information about our music ministries, simply call the office and ask
for Mr. Garrett J. Grimes, Director of Music Ministries.

Reaching Out to Our Community and Beyond
Individually and as a congregation, the
people of All Saints' work to bring material and spiritual comfort to
our neighbors in need. Many parishioners find their life's work in the
human services professions; in addition, you'll find our members
serving as volunteers in local hospitals, shelters, schools, and other
charitable organizations. As a church community, we invite you to bring
canned food goods each Sunday morning for the food pantry at St. Paul's
Paterson.
Our Outreach Ministries offer special
opportunities for service, including a preparing and serving a
quarterly dinner to the Men's Shelter at St. Paul's in Paterson and
sponsoring an annual baby shower for the women and children of North
Porch Shelter. Our high school youth and adult leaders from the parish
participate in local building projects for Habitat for Humanity, as
well as in weeklong mission trips to areas needing help in other parts
of the United States. In addition, we give generously for special
projects such as Habitat for Humanity, blankets for the homeless, and
missionary projects throughout the world.
The Outreach Committee is made up of
parishioners who look for ways for the parish as a whole to work on
issues and projects that reflect our parish’s commitment to help others
in our communities and the world beyond. Collectively, the Outreach
committee identifies volunteer opportunities and provides financial
support to both local and global organizations. If you would like to
find out more about the Outreach Committee and the amazing work that is
being done, please e-mail Annmarie Tarleton at outreach@allsaintsglenrock.org. Download our 2012 Outreach Calendar! Souper Bowl Sunday Soup Sale:
It’s that time of year again – football and soup! The Outreach
Committee will hold its annual Soup Sale on “Souper” Bowl Sunday,
February 5 immediately following the 10:00 am service. If you are
interested in making soup and need containers, please email outreach@allsaintsglenrock.org
to let Annmarie Tarleton know how many containers you would like.
Also, if you are making soup, don’t forget to e-mail your soup recipe
to recipes@allsaintsglenrock.org. Parish Hall Rental:
The Parish Hall is available to rent! The hall rental fees are posted
on our website. There are rates for parishioners, non parishioners and
also a rate for members of our pre-school. Please spread the word to
your family and friends. Recipes from All Saints:
As you know, All Saints' is well known for throwing great parties --
whether it be our Souper Bowl Sunday Soup Sale, Easter Brunch, the Pig
Roast, or our amazing coffee hours after the 10:00 am service on
Sunday. Many parishioners thought it would be a great idea to start to
collect these recipes. So, please send any recipes that you may have
made in the past for All Saints' events or any special recipes you make
at home that you think will be a good contribution to our future recipe
book. All recipes, with your name, can be sent to recipes@allsaintsglenrock.org.
Any questions, suggestions or if you want to be a part of the Recipe
Team, please email the recipe mailbox and let us know.

Stewardship
|
Stewardship is all that we do, all that we are. It is our response to
God's goodness and bounty. It
encompasses many dimensions, including the familiar time, talent and
treasure.
Please join us on Oct. 23, 2011 after the 10:00 service for a
Stewardship Forum led by Brian Combs, our Stewardship Chair.
Brian will be
discussing stewardship in its broad context as well as more specific
issues such as: the steady decline in pledges since the economic
downturn, pledge levels vs. church budget, and others. While money and
giving is an uncomfortable topic, it is one that Jesus talked about
repeatedly.
Stewardship is all that we are; and in God's economy, there is always
enough to be shared.

Fellowship

Celebrating friendships and community
The people of All Saints' are warm,
friendly, and welcoming, and we
always enjoy getting together to say hello to old friends and to
welcome newcomers to our midst.
Throughout the year, we offer several
events simply for fellowship and relaxation, including a Fish and Chips
dinner every spring during Lent, an autumn pasta dinner, a festive
Christmas dinner and dance, informal cottage brunches, and an
all-parish picnic in June at the end of the Church School
year.
We are
famous for our lavish brunches after special church services, including
our famous Easter Sunday Brunch.
As always, the Fellowship Ministry encourages everyone to help with
coffee hour on a rotational basis by setting up the coffee urns,
bringing in milk, baked goods and fruit juice to share. Hosting a
coffee hour is a fun and creative ministry and not as difficult as you
may think. We provide training to new hosts!
SAVE THE DATE!!! Mark your
calendars!!! All Saints will be hosting a Beefsteak Dinner on Saturday,
January 28th, 2012. The beefsteak dinner will be catered by
Nightingale Caterers who are well known for their perfectly cooked
Filet Mignon Steak and it is all you can eat!! Plan a fun family
night out, invite friends and neighbors the more the merrier! If you'd like more information simply

ministry at

Pastoral Care
|
All Saints' believes that pastoral care is not reserved only for the
clergy. Our lay people volunteer to reach out to
those in the church that need extra help in
getting to church, receiving communion in their own home, running
errands, helping with doctors appointments, preparing meals for the
sick, and any other way that we can reach out to those in our All
Saints family.
The Pastoral Care Committee is always looking for new members to take
part in this truly rewarding ministry.
If you have any questions about Pastoral Care or you think you might be
interested in lending a helping hand, or you need the Pastoral Care
Committee to get in touch with you, please contact Karen
Mitchell at pastoralcare@allsaintsglenrock.org.

Welcome
Committee
|
|
All Saints' is committed to extending a warm
welcome to all visitors and new comers. The welcome ministry
identifies ways to make everyone feel comfortable and welcomed
during worship and fellowship time. With
genuine gestures and conversations, we want you to experience
something that we truly value in our parish.
Starting after the service on Sunday November 20th, Bill Viggiani and
Stephen Chan will be taking photos of parishioners for our new online
photo and name directory (no other information). The
directory will be on a secured area of our website. This will
be a great way to help newcomers as well as long time parishioners get
to know each other's names. Please make a point of having
your photo taken and included. Families and couples can pose
together. If you prefer, you can send your own photos to
Stephen for posting. Bill and Stephen will be taking photos
every Sunday through December 20th.
Don't wait to the last minute, take your photo on Sunday November
20th!
Contact Eileen Wagner at welcome@allsaintsglenrock.org
for any questions.

Barrier Free
|
The Barrier Free Ministry seeks to understand and respond to the
"barriers" that hinder our ministries and spiritual development. With
the completion of the access project, the Barrier Free Ministry is
looking at ways to use what we have done to respond to the needs of
parishioners, but also to open the doors of the church to the community
in a wider way. What will our "Barrier Free Ministry" be? You are
invited to contact John Sullivan at barrierfree@allsaintsglenrock.org
for more information about how you can become involved in this
important ministry.

Building & Grounds
|
Thanks to the many people that have assisted buildings and
grounds over the past few weeks-- All Saints has passed the town
building inspection! This team went above and beyond to get the job
done and take care of our precious building. THANK YOU. A few updates
on projects that we are working on: We are waiting for our
insurance company to get back to us on the mold problem that we have in
the church. We will keep you updated once we have more
information. The vestry has also recently approved money from the
memorial fund to fix the drain problem in the parking lot. This was
becoming a safety issue and we are concerned for our preschool parents,
children and of course the parishioners of All Saints.
If
you are particularly skilled in any area and would like to assist the
buildings and grounds department in anyway, please email Deb Spell at
dsmick12@aol.com. Volunteers for one-off type projects are greatly
appreciated.

St.
Anne's Guild
|
|
"Do this in remembrance of me." -- Come;
help prepare the Lord's Table.
Altar Guild is a great way to serve All
Saints behind the scenes. The ministry of the Altar Guild is
the care and upkeep of everything associated with the Altar, sanctuary
and sacristy. It involves setting up for Mass on Saturday
(less than an hour) and cleaning up after Mass on Sunday (about 15
minutes). Altar Guild members usually serve one weekend about
every other month and attend special meetings every year (an
organizational meeting in September and then just before Christmas and
just before Easter to polish).
Everyone is encouraged to join in this
ministry. If you are interested in joining please contact Beth
Polo at altarguild@allsaintsglenrock.org.
